Marshmellow fondant or MM Fondant by Julia

2 tbl water
16 oz bag of mini marshmallows
2 pound bag of powdered sugar
microwave safe bowl large to stir ingredients
spoon to stir (then use your greased hands to knead in the rest until not sticky)
scissors to open bag
Crisco or shortening to cover hands to knead dough and cover
microwave
plastic wrap to plastic bag
I just put back in powdered sugar bag

I melt marshmallows With two tbl spoons of water in microwave safe bowl for 2 min 40 seconds stirring occasionally
.
I use jet puff always turns out! Don't use walmart generic it get crystallized you get chunks.

Keep a container of Crisco close to grease hands

Cut 2 pound bag of (S and W brand is best) powdered sugar .Be ready to pour bag about half at first .and stir.

(Other powdered sugars contain more.cornstarch and can thicken and crumble your dough.)

Stir powdered sugar until too hard to stir.
Fun part!! (makes your hands really soft)
Grease hands with shortening and knead in more powdered sugar.

Until you get desired dough not too tough not too sticky.
Rub the dough with Crisco shortening to keep from drying out and wrap in your powdered sugar bag to sit a few hours to cool helps dissolve powdered sugars and cooled so easier to roll out without being sticky.

If I know I need a lot of one color, I add coloring when marshmallows are melting .Adding color can make dough more sticky when already made dough is mixed. Dark colors like black or red can change the chemistry of the dough you'll notice more sticky or crumbly. sometimes getting Duff black fondant tastes better and is easier to work with.
To roll out dough the next day keep unused dough covered in plastic to not dry out. microwaving 5 seconds softens hard dough. and rolling out it gets sticky so leave a layer of cornstarch on your work space surface to roll over even rub over the top and rolling pin lightly not too much. It can leave white spots of powder on your dough. I keep a towel close by to dust off my hands and wipe off the dough gently if I nee to glue pieces with water. Good luck! email me if you need help or have questions

adding powered sugar to melted marshmellow

The finished dough shouldn't drip out of your hands when you hold it up
this cake is all M&M fondant
this is how much shortening is on my hands
i put my dough back in powdered sugar bag
Kneading dough can be sticky if you need to rinse hands partway and re coat with shortening it can help just pour more powdered sugar over and keep kneading it in
mini marshmellows
stop microwave and check to stir in or it can overcook on edges
